Summary

All in all, Applixware Office makes an excellent office suite. Installation is almost painless. Launching the applications is simple and intuitive. The critical elements - Words, Spreadsheets and Graphics - all do their jobs with no fuss and no bother. Some of the peripheral applications - Presents, Mail and HTML Author aren't up to the standards of power users in those areas, but these work quite well as adjuncts to an office suite. Configuring things with Preferences or extending them make for a extremely customizable environment. Some of the tools used for this - the Macro Editor and the Dialog Box Editor are a little finicky, but they can do the job, and the Bitmap Editor is excellent. The tool for reporting problems is a nice touch. The only real weakness is the online help system.

Again, this is an excellent suite, and provides a lot of power for the price.
