Help
The online help system is by
far the weakest utility in the system. The interface is an HTML
browser. The window cannot be resized beyond 794x650, which is a pain
for anyone using larger screen sizes. The Back button takes
you back to the top of the previous document, making it hard when
scanning the table of contents to read an entry then resume
scanning. There does not appear to be any way to follow a link in a
new window, which would alleviate that problem. There is a search
function, but it's segmented with no way to search for things in
applications other than the application Help was started from. Online
books are included as PDF files, but the provided PDF reader is very
primitive. I found it best to find the files and print them or read
them with my favorite PDF reader. Those flaws aside, it is possible -
though somewhat agonizing - to find things in the online
documentation.
